FA Cup betting tips

The FA Cup takes precedent for the first round of fixtures in 2010. It is always a tricky tournament to bet on but hopefully these tips should send you in the right direction.
Liverpool travel to Reading in desperate need of progressing through to the next round. Boss Rafael Benitez could do with a cup run to steady the ship and try and get Liverpool’s season back on track so he will probably play a reasonably strong team. Reading have a poor home record and are really struggling at the moment so I doubt they’ll get any joy out of Liverpool. At 4/9 it may not be the most adventurous of betting tips but it seems a pretty safe place to start.
League Two strugglers Torquay host League One outfit Brighton in what should be an interesting tie. Brighton actually have a pretty decent away record despite their lowly position in League One (just outside the relegation places) having Won four, drawn four and lost four. The FA Cup always throws up a few surprises but at 9/5 I reckon Brighton are worth the risk.
This is another risky call – but again the odds make it worthwhile in my opinion. In League One Huddersfield Town have a fantastic record at home, having won nine, drawn three and lost none and they welcome Championship high-fliers West Brom to the Galpharm Stadium. With West Brom on course to head straight back into the Premier League boss Roberto Di Matteo may chose to rest some of his better players, which would give Huddersfield a great chance. The Terriers are a pretty decent side and they may just fancy their chances on home soil and at 5/2 I reckon they’re worth a nibble.
