Midweek betting picks

We’ve got a full schedule during the week over Tuesday and Wednesday.  After all the cancellations earlier this month we could be in line for quite a few decent midweek betting opportunities and here are my latest picks.

Nothing really grabs my attention in the Premier League on Tuesday, I’m tempted to suggest Bolton will beat Burnley at the Reebok but that is a bit of a strange one.  On paper I really fancy the Wanderers but you never know how the Clarets will react when up against their old boss so soon after he left.  If you fancy it, the home side are priced at 4/5.  However, on the Wednesday Everton welcome Sunderland to Goodison Park and I really fancy the home side in this one.  Everton are on a pretty decent run, despite being dumped out of the cup, but Sunderland are faltering after their storming start.  Everton are priced at 5/7, which looks a decent bet to me.

In the Championship Bristol City take on Cardiff at Ashton Gate, with the two sides having met in the third round of the FA Cup just last week.  The FA Cup tie took two games, with Cardiff emerging victorious after a 1-1 draw in Bristol and a 1-0 win in Cardiff.  This Welsh-English derby should be a hard fought affair and I reckon Bristol might just nick it with home advantage.  There isn’t a lot between the two sides and at 8/5 I reckon Bristol are great value to take all three points at home.

Leicester City are pushing for a play-off place at the moment and they travel to Barnsley, who have hit a bit of a slump of late.  Leicester look a well organised side and have the ability to score plenty of goals and they should be far too strong for the Tykes on Tuesday night.  The visitors are priced at a very inviting 2/1, and at those odds I’ll certainly be having a nibble on the Leicester win.

I’ll be back with more betting picks and tips ahead of the weekend fixtures, if you’re into horse racing why not check out Betfair’s Irish racing tips?  They’ve got a decent team of writers who really know their stuff and the site is updated regularly.  They also cover football and it is always worth reading as much as you can if your planning on having a gamble.
